  • Why should you vote? On June 24, 2022 the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade.  On November 7, 2023, we’ll vote on amending the Ohio constitution to establish a state constitutional right to "make and carry out one’s own reproductive decisions.” If you care about abortion, you’re going to want to vote.

Important dates

  • Early voting: Early voting starts October 11, 2023 and ends on November 5, 2023. Early voting takes place Monday-Friday except during the last weekend before Election Day, when you can also vote on Saturday and Sunday. So if you want to vote on a weekend, go vote on November 4 or November 5. Click here to find your early voting location.

  • Absentee ballot request deadline: October 31 by 8:30 p.m.

  • Voted ballot deadline: Postmarked by November 6 if you mail your ballot. Due by the close of polls on Election Day if you hand-deliver your ballot.

  • Election Day: November 7, 2023

Voter ID rules

All Ohio voters must show a government-issued photo ID when voting. Proof of identification must meet all four of the following requirements:

  1. Include your photo

  2. Show your name, which must "reasonably conform" to the name you used when you registered to vote

  3. Show an expiration date that has not passed

  4. Be issued by the State of Ohio or the federal government

An unexpired Ohio Driver License or an Ohio State ID Card that shows your former address IS an acceptable form of identification as long as you registered to vote with your current address.

What’s on your ballot?

This election is all about Ohio Issue 1, which is a ballot measure to amend the state constitution. “Ohio Issue 1: Right to Make Reproductive Decisions”

  • A yes vote supports amending the Ohio Constitution to establish a state constitutional right to "make and carry out one’s own reproductive decisions.” Vote YES if you are pro-choice. 

  • A no vote opposes amending the Ohio Constitution to establish the constitutional right to "make and carry out one’s own reproductive decisions." Vote NO if you are anti-choice.
